AFTER:  1 year post-operative, 375cc smooth round Saline implants, to mid / full C cup breasts

COMMENTS:  This patient had a large gap between her breasts along with asymmetry. I would like to have achieved a smaller separation between the breasts, but the patient’s anatomy did not allow it. Nonetheless, the patient was very happy with the overall correction of asymmetry and breast shape.

COMMENTS:  This patient did not want the appearance of having had a breast augmentation. I centered the implant behind the nipple and areola to correct the sagging she had, achieving the illusion of elongating her upper torso (see all three views).

BEFORE:  29 year-old female, 5'6"  112 lbs, with pre-existing asymmetry. She had a saline breast augmentation in the early 1990's by a Beverly Hills plastic, and developed a deflation of the left breast implant (which occurs in a small percentage of patients although hers resulted from an automobile accident). Also, note the narrowing of her right breast from the first surgery.

AFTER:  8 months post-operative, removal of Saline implants and replaced with 350cc high profile Silicone gel implants, to mid C cup breasts

COMMENTS:  This patient’s immediate concern was the deflated implant in her left breast, but she also wanted her right breast shape improved because it was somewhat narrow and flat towards the middle. This surgery was somewhat more challenging because she waited several weeks after the deflation to see me. Switching to the high profile Silicone gel implant gave her a more natural look, which is why this implant is gaining in popularity with women who have a narrow upper torso.

COMMENTS:  This petite patient with a very narrow chest wall (base diameter of each breast) desired to go as big as possible, yet still look natural. I created the natural balancing the fullness in the upper part of the breasts, yet they do not have what I refer to as a natural slope.

COMMENTS:  This patient desired a very natural, conservative look, a result I achieved while correcting her asymmetry.

COMMENTS:  This very thin patient with a long upper torso wanted a full volume that looked natural from every view. I achieved this because there was enough distance between her clavicles and nipples so the large volume implants do not appear to be "riding too high".

COMMENTS:  This patient desired a natural looking fullness to compliment her long upper torso. Note in the side view the natural slope of her breasts with the conservative sized implants.

COMMENTS:  This patient desired a very conservative volume, as she did not want the appearance of breast augmentation. Her frame posed somewhat of a challenge because I basically created her inframammary fold (the lower breast crease).

COMMENTS:  This patient had ample breast volume but felt they were too small in proportion to her frame. She also desired more cleavage and a contoured waist. Although the implant volume was not large, the result made her look more proportional.

COMMENTS:  This patient desired to keep the natural slope of her upper breasts—not wanting any roundness. There was a generous distance from the clavicles (collarbones) to the center of the nipples, so I could have even gone with a larger implant if she had wanted it and still avoided any roundness in the upper breast.

COMMENTS:  This patient desired a conservatively full volume that would be difficult to detect she had undergone a breast augmentation. She also wanted just an “ever so slight” hint of roundness on the upper part of the breasts, which I achieved (see all views).

COMMENTS:  This patient desired to go “as full as she could while still looking natural”, without a change in the diameter of her right areola. Her significant asymmetry posed many challenges, but I performed an areolar lift for the tubular right breast (without the additional anchor-type scarring of a standard lift). This patient was extremely pleased with the overall improvement.

COMMENTS:  This patient had some obvious sagging of the breasts, and she desired the loose skin filled out in a natural look. I did not perform any kind of lift procedure, but achieved the appearance she expected after seeing other patients with this kind of pre-existing breast anatomy.

COMMENTS:  This patient desired some fullness in the upper part of the breasts but wanted to stay in the conservative small C cup range of volume. Ideally, she would have looked better if I was able to lower her inframammary crease but—with her small of amount of breast tissue, the fullness she wanted in the upper breast, and centering the implant behind the nipple/areola—I would’ve had to use nearly a 500cc implant, which would’ve created a D cup on her frame that she didn’t want).

COMMENTS:  This extremely thin patient had a very small amount of breast tissue, yet she desired as much volume as possible while still looking natural. Because of her very thin stature, as well as the relatively short distance between her clavicles and nipple position (measured distance), I created a pocket for the implant that allowed for a little "settling" of the implants over time—otherwise the upper part of her breasts might eventually look unnatural.

COMMENTS:  This very thin but athletic patient’s left breast was slightly smaller and higher, with the nipple pointing more towards the outside). The nature and quality of her breast tissue (very thin after nursing 2 children) made her a candidate for silicone gel breast implants, as part of the gel adjunct study. I obtained a very natural result with no roundness in the upper part of the breast—a look she wanted to avoid. The results once again gave her a very natural slope to her breasts, seen especially from the side and angle views.

COMMENTS:  This small-framed patient with breast asymmetry wanted as much fullness (volume) as she could get and still look natural. The implants are not large, but I lowered the natural crease slightly (while creating the pocket for the implant) to center the implants behind the nipple and areola. This created a much more desirable result, as otherwise it might have appeared as though the implants were "riding too high".
